Description
Description
Drawing on the experience of many years of sailing (10,000 miles across the North Atlantic), Silentwind Generator Germany has developed a highly efficient wind turbine, designed by sailors for sailors. It differs from other wind generators on the market in key design features. This next-generation wind generator ensures peace and quiet in the harbor or at anchor.
Special features:
- particularly high performance even at low wind speeds
- suitable for all climates
- stable alignment to the wind even in strong seas
- high-quality, encapsulated and seawater-resistant bearings
- extremely low noise across the entire wind speed range
- Additional connection option for a 100W peak solar system (not included) to the hybrid charge controller
- A blue LED on the bottom of the Silentwind generator indicates that charging is in progress. Strain relief for the connecting cables is included.
Hybrid charge controller
The included hybrid charge controller with microprocessor offers the option of connecting a solar power output of up to 100 watts/Wp. The controller can charge AGM, gel, and wet batteries. A stop switch is already integrated on the front panel. In addition to the usual displays of battery voltage in volts and charging current in amperes, the LCD also shows the charged power in Ah (ampere hours) or kWh. The controller features an automatically switching load output that can disconnect consumers of up to 10 amperes before the battery is damaged by deep discharge. The controller can be configured to specific requirements in the settings menu.
Top equipment:
- LCD and LED display
- Load output
- Input for 100Wp solar power
- integrated stop switch
CFRP whisper wings
Due to the low acceptance of loud wind turbines, the blue carbon whisper blades were initially developed. In a wind turbine test conducted by the trade magazine SEGELN in issue 6/2009, the blue whisper blades were mounted on an AirX test winner, "...the quietest AirX ever." The handcrafted carbon whisper blades were also successfully tested at WindGuard Bremerhaven in a professional wind tunnel up to hurricane force (122 km/h). The cover cap, like the blades, is UV-protected and cannot break due to premature brittleness.
Charging power depending on wind speed:
| Beaufort | node | km/h | m/s | Charging capacity of the Silentwind in watts |
|
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| calm | 0 | < 1 | < 1 | 0.3 | Start-up at 2 m/s |
| quiet train | 1 | 1-3 | 1-5 | 0.3-1.5 | Start-up at 2 m/s |
| light wind | 2 | 4-6 | 6-11 | 1.6-3.3 | 4 watts |
| light wind |
