Automatic life jackets offer maximum safety at sea, as they inflate automatically in an emergency and turn the person into a safe supine position. They are lightweight, comfortable to wear, and equipped with important safety features such as a whistle, reflectors, and an optional distress light. Regular maintenance and suitable replacement cartridges ensure full operational readiness.

  • Buy an automatic life jacket

An automatic life jacket is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment in boating accessories. In an emergency, it not only keeps the person overboard safely afloat, but also reduces energy expenditure and minimizes cold loss. This can gain valuable time for a successful rescue.

  • Life jacket with automatic release

Automatic life jackets contain a gas cartridge that, when triggered, releases gas into the buoyancy chambers, inflating the vest. Buoyancy automatically rotates the wearer into a stable supine position, keeping their airways clear and their head stabilized. This makes automatic life jackets safe from fainting and lifesaving.

Important: After activating the life jacket, the gas cartridge must be replaced with a spare. It is essential to use original cartridges, as any deviations may impair functionality. It is also recommended to always carry spare cartridges on board.

  • Buy life jacket accessories

Automatic life jackets are often equipped with useful accessories. These include a mouth valve for regulating the air, a whistle, and reflectors. An automatic life jacket light, which activates upon contact with water, increases visibility during a rescue. A lifeline is also recommended, serving as a safety line to prevent falling overboard.

  • Buoyancy of the automatic life jacket

Choosing the right buoyancy class is crucial for the performance of an automatic lifejacket. Buoyancy is measured in Newtons (N) – the higher the value, the greater the buoyancy. Factors such as body weight and clothing influence the selection. An incorrect selection can impair the vest's ability to rotate. If you have any questions, our service team will be happy to help.

  • Life jacket maintenance

Regular maintenance of life jackets and other safety equipment is essential. During maintenance, all relevant components such as CO2 cartridges, seals, the mouth valve, and the automatic inflation system are checked. Regular inspections ensure that the life jacket functions reliably in an emergency.
