Rope shackles & round thimbles

(5 products)

Rope shackles and round thimbles are important connecting elements on board, ensuring stable, durable, and secure connections between ropes, lines, and fittings. They offer a reliable alternative to traditional metal connectors and are particularly lightweight, corrosion-free, and versatile—ideal for maritime use on sailboats and motorboats.

  • Rope shackle – light, strong & flexible

Rope shackles are typically made of high-strength Dyneema or polyester rope and replace traditional metal shackles. They are extremely tensile, yet lightweight and easy to handle. Their light weight and flexibility make them particularly suitable for applications where metal parts would be annoying or rattle—for example, when connecting sails, blocks, or sheets.

  • Round thimbles – protection & stability for lines

Round thimbles are spliced into rope and serve as a stable guide for shackles or hooks. They prevent the rope from fraying at high-stress points, thus increasing the rope's service life. Round thimbles are often made of stainless steel or plastic and are available in various diameters, tailored to the strength of the rope used.

  • Ideal for maritime use

Thanks to their saltwater-resistant properties and ease of use, both rope shackles and round thimbles are perfectly suited for use on board. Whether for securing fenders, attaching blocks, or as part of a rigging system – these accessories are true all-rounders at sea.
