Thorough preparation is crucial for a lasting antifouling effect. With suitable primers and removers, you create the perfect foundation for new coats of paint on the boat's hull. This way, your boat not only stays in top shape, but also has long-term protection.

  • Preparation with antifouling removers and primers

With antifouling removers and primers, you can optimally prepare your boat for a new coat of paint. Antifouling removers are applied over the previous, flaking, or outdated antifouling. After a certain exposure time, the soft compound is carefully removed with a spatula or similar boating tool. For particularly thick layers, this process may need to be repeated.

  • Priming with antifouling primer

With an antifouling primer, you can prime the clean surface of the boat's hull so that the new antifouling can adhere to it later and doesn't penetrate the boat's material. These primers are usually quick-drying, allowing you to continue working quickly. When choosing your antifouling primer or remover, make sure it's suitable for your boat and the material it's made of.
