Description
Description
The MOB Lifesaver is a buoyant rescue line connected to the rescue loop of the automatic lifejacket. When the lifejacket is deployed, the line is thrown into the water. Functions: The crew on board can use a boat hook to catch the person overboard and secure them to the vessel with the line. A rescue tackle can be attached to the line to hoist the person who has fallen overboard back onto the vessel. This rescue method is recommended in safety training courses in Germany. The problem of securing the person who has fallen overboard to the vessel without their assistance has not been solved to date. The victim had to actively reach for a rescue throw line and attach it to their body. The MOB Lifesaver solves this problem.
Material: 3 meters long, spliced as a ring line with a reinforced triangle loop at one end, 3 millimeters in diameter, ultra-high molecular polyethylene HMPE (Dyneema), buoyant in bright yellow. Breaking load 1.3 tons (considerably higher than the breaking load of the rescue loops on life jackets).
The developers: Duncan Wells, an instructor with the Royal Yachting Association, sailing school operator, author, and water sports journalist. His books "Stress-Free Sailing" and "Stress-Free Motorboating" have been published in German by Delius Klasing Verlag. The books describe the product and its use in detail.
