The impeller is very important for safety. Its job is to pump water through the engine's cooling system. Remember that the impeller should be replaced annually. Make sure you only use genuine SPX FLOW Johnson Pump Marine brand impellers. This way, you can be sure it's a perfect fit for your pump.

Pull the impeller out of the pump housing using water pump pliers or the special JP puller.
