The BUKH DV24RME is designed and constructed as a true marine engine—it is not a 'marinized' industrial engine. Its simple construction makes it very easy to maintain. A Bukh engine does not vibrate, as a well-balanced system of rotating counterweights within the engine neutralizes all vibrations. It does not rattle because minimal tolerances in all moving parts ensure the lowest possible noise levels in bearings, gears, pistons, and connecting rods. A Bukh RME engine features automatic fuel control, ensuring the engine receives only the amount of fuel required for the immediate load. Thanks to the open flywheel, we can offer a wide range of different SOLAS-approved starting systems, something not possible with other diesel engines. We can combine manual start, hydraulic start, and spring start with traditional electric start.
