The three colors for starboard, port, and stern together consume less than 3.5 watts. The anchor light consumes less than 1.5 watts (less than 0.13 A at 12 V). Compared to navigation lights with conventional incandescent bulbs, which consume 25 watts for the tri-color light and 10 watts for the anchor light, this represents a power saving of more than 90%, which is particularly noticeable when sailing—that is, when the engine is off.
