The iAISTX Plus was specifically designed for the growing number of boaters who use an iPad or Android tablet for navigation. As a full-function Class B transponder, it transmits your boat position and identity data to other AIS-equipped vessels, providing a wireless interface for mobile devices with popular apps to display data received from other AIS-equipped vessels.

This PLUS model also features a NMEA 2000 interface (with integrated drop cable), allowing it to be integrated with modern plotters, instruments, and multifunction displays to provide AIS functionality.

iAISTX creates a secure, password-protected, local Wi-Fi network. This allows you to send AIS and GPS data to popular iOS and Android apps like Navionics, iSailor, Weather4D, SailGrib, iNavX, TimeZero, and more. These apps provide a detailed overlay of local AIS targets, updated in real time. Depending on the app, you can click on a target to view identity and collision avoidance data such as CPA (nearest point of approach) and TCPA (time to nearest point of approach).

AIS transponders require one-time programming with the boat's identity and physical dimensions. This is done via a simple, embedded web interface through the tablet's browser. You can also use it to mute the transmission and set wireless parameters such as passwords. Installation is simple—simply connect the power supply (12/24v), mount the included external GPS antenna, and connect it to a separate dedicated VHF antenna or to the boat's existing VHF antenna using our SPL1500 or SPL2000 AIS-VHF antenna splitters.
