In 2005/2006, at the age of 19, Johannes Erdmann crossed the Atlantic solo on his yacht, Maverick. The 31-day trip spawned his sailing blog "Alone at Sea" and the bestseller "Alone Across the Atlantic." Further blue-water cruises in the Atlantic followed.
