Description

Polyester fine filler for particularly smooth surfaces when filling sheet metal, GRP, wood, concrete, and other filler materials, and for repairs with KR-RESIN and glass mat or the POLY GLAS Repair Set. Very fine quality with excellent sandability.

CHARACTERISTICS
This product is a two-component polyester fine filler specially developed for professional painters and decorators and meets the highest quality standards. Selected and coordinated filler and resin combinations give this product a particularly smooth character and it is characterized by a closed-pore surface. FEW has comparatively low shrinkage during curing. The thixotropic consistency allows not only for a homogeneous, self-contained fine filler (filling pores, leveling minor unevenness and small scratches), but also for the smooth filling of medium-sized unevenness on vertical surfaces. FEW is particularly easy to sand.

AREA OF OPERATION

• Leveling of small and large unevenness in steel sheets and GRP parts.
• Repairing minor scratches and paint damage on the bodywork. The cured filler can be baked up to a maximum of 80°C.
• Covering surfaces previously treated with filler or fiber filler. This creates a finer and less absorbent surface. Any remaining pores and unevenness in the base filler are closed.
• Reconditioning weathered and corroded surfaces of other materials.
• Light-duty bonding of wood, stone, metal and GRP parts.
• Quick repair of localized damage to gelcoats of the same color in weather-exposed areas or above-water areas on boats. Covering the filled area with a Hostaphan film creates a very smooth surface after curing.
• Contouring and leveling compound in model making or repair work.
• Repairing joints, cracks, and signs of weathering in wooden surfaces such as windows and doors and their frames before repainting.

PROCESSING
The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of grease. Good adhesion is achieved on all roughly sanded substrates, such as wood, metal, and fiberglass laminates (not with thermoplastic acrylic systems). Carefully remove sanding dust before beginning the filling process. The mixing ratio of 100 parts by weight polyester filler and 2-3 parts by weight hardener paste must not be exceeded. Overdosing hardener can lead to color changes in the topcoat system.
POT TIME:
At a room temperature of 18 - 20° C, the processing time is 3 - 4 minutes.
