VETUS M-LINE ENGINES
The M-Line engines impress with their smooth running, low fuel consumption, and reliability. Furthermore, they are naturally aspirated, which is a significant advantage and saves time, for example, after a fuel filter change. All engines are equipped with a powerful alternator for quick battery recharging. A second alternator can be installed as an option on all M4 models, and much more...!
INNOVATION
Low engine compartment temperature
Due to heat radiation from the engine, the engine compartment temperature can quickly rise to 70°C. However, a high engine compartment temperature can have a negative impact on the performance of the engine and other installed components.
That's why VETUS has developed an elegant yet efficient solution by using a water-cooled aluminum engine cover. Mounted directly above the cylinder head, this superbly sized cooling element absorbs the engine's radiant heat. This innovative concept results in a significant reduction in the engine compartment temperature of up to 15°C, or approximately 20%. The cooler ambient temperature, in turn, ensures cooler intake air, resulting in better combustion and lower fuel consumption. To our knowledge, no other marine engine manufacturer uses such an additional cooling element to reduce the ambient temperature. A truly unique solution from VETUS!
Reduction of engine noise
Most people go boating to enjoy the peace and quiet on the water. VETUS is doing its part by developing propulsion systems that are as quiet as possible.
The robust aluminum cover also significantly reduces engine noise. Tests have shown that, in combination with the redesigned air filter housing, the noise level is reduced by 5 dB(A); at cruising speed and 2200 rpm, the engine operates virtually silently. Everyone involved in the tests was enthusiastic, describing the engine acoustics as very pleasant to the ear.
Characteristics
Based on customer feedback, the M-Line combines many features that make life much easier for both boat builders and end customers.
- Maintenance-intensive parts and areas, such as fuses and relays (A), fuel filter and connections (B), impeller (C), dipstick (D), and oil filter (E), are easily accessible. On all M4 engines, the impeller is located on the front panel.
- Wiring and connections are laid out so that they are easily accessible.
- All M-Line engines are equipped with an electric fuel pump (F), which is activated when the start key is turned on.
- A new air filter housing dampens the air flow and reduces the intake noise level (G).
- The heat exchanger features no fewer than 26 improvements over previous versions, including better materials used and optimized surface treatment.
- The plastic front cover improves safety and appearance. All rollers and belts are covered, in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive.
- Front-mounted oil and fuel filters and an additional bracket are available as options to make maintenance work even easier (H).
- If a higher charging power is required, all M4 engines can be equipped with a second alternator on request (when using a second alternator, the front cover is omitted). <
