This type of deep cycle battery is particularly suitable for applications such as electric propulsion. The VEDC110TC is a Group 31 "Deep Cycle/Semi-traction" battery with two different connection options (poles): one set of conventional tapered poles and one set of straight 5/16" poles for cable lugs. Thicker plates in the battery allow for a 75% deeper discharge compared to conventional batteries and are ideal for continuous load operation. This makes these batteries particularly suitable for yacht use, where the batteries often need to deliver a charge over long periods. The VEDC110TC battery is based on a sealed maintenance-free battery (SMF), so the same chargers are applicable.
