Precise alignment and concentric mounting of the propeller

Precisely aligning and centrally mounting a boat's propeller shaft is not easy, if not impossible. VETUS Uniflex flexible couplings offer a solution to this problem. In addition to the features of the VETUS couplings presented on this page, they have the added advantage of being able to accommodate misalignment of up to 2 degrees between the shaft and the reversing gear. They also center the shaft on the reversing gear. Therefore, the Uniflex coupling is an ideal flexible medium for a propeller shaft system with a freely suspended inner bearing and an engine mounted on flexible engine supports. If the shaft actually forms an angle of 2 degrees with the engine, the maximum permissible speed at the shaft is limited to 1500 rpm.

These couplings are axially and radially secured against breakdown. These couplings are not suitable for V-gearboxes.
