The 714-140A DVSR uses a dual sense DVSR (710-140a). This system ensures that you always have a fully charged reserve battery. When the switch is in position one, battery one becomes the sense battery for the VSR. Battery two, isolated, is charged by the VSR when the engine is running, ensuring it is always fully charged. When the switch is in position two, battery two becomes the sense battery, and the battery is charged by the VSR. Having a fully charged reserve battery at all times is a major safety benefit.
