A. Information on the disposal of used batteries
The following notice is aimed at those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form supplied to them (end users):
1. Free take-back of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return old batteries so that professional disposal can be guaranteed. You can hand in used batteries to a municipal collection point or to local retailers. As a battery distributor, we are also obliged to take back old batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to old batteries of the type that we have or have had as new batteries in our range. You can either return old batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage, or hand them in free of charge directly to our shipping warehouse at the address given in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
For batteries that contain:
more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury
more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium
more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead
The chemical name of the pollutant used is located under the garbage can symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb " stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
3. Vehicle Batteries
The following special features apply to the sale of vehicle batteries (these are batteries intended for the starter, lighting or ignition of vehicles, still referred to as batteries): The seller is obliged under German law § 10 BattG, towards end users depending on Battery a deposit of 7.50 euros including sales tax if the end user does not return the old battery to the seller at the time of purchase of the new battery. The customer receives a deposit voucher when purchasing a battery. The customer can return the old battery to the seller to have the deposit refunded.
Due to the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, sending the old battery to the seller is not permitted. Alternatively, the customer can return the old battery to a collection point set up by the public waste disposal authority. If the old battery is not returned to the seller who collects the deposit, the person entitled to collect the old battery is obliged under German law § 11 (3) BattG to confirm the return in writing or electronically to the end user without refunding the deposit.
In this case, the customer will receive a refund from the seller for the deposit provided that he submits written or electronic proof of return to the seller in accordance with German law § 10 paragraph 1 sentence 4 BattG, which is no older than two weeks at the time of submission.
B. Information on electrical and electronic equipment
The following information is aimed at private households that use electrical and/or electronic devices. Please observe these important instructions in the interests of environmentally friendly disposal of old devices and your own safety.
1. Information on the disposal of old electronic devices and the meaning of the symbol according to Annex 3 to the ElektroG (German law)
Owners of old devices must also separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old device from it before handing them in at a collection point.
The latter does not apply if the old devices are separated from other old devices in accordance with German law § 14 paragraph 5 sentences 2 and 3 ElektroG as part of the opting by the public waste disposal authorities for the purpose of preparing them for reuse in order to prepare them for reuse.
The symbol according to Appendix 3 of the German law ElektroG allows owners to recognize old devices that are to be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of their service life.
The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment is a crossed-out wheeled bin.
2. Information on the possibility of returning old equipment
Some of the devices to be disposed of contain sensitive personal data (e.g. on a PC or a smartphone), which must not get into the hands of third parties. We You can return old devices with a maximum edge length of 25 centimeters to us free of charge in normal household quantities (maximum 5 devices of one type of device). Owners of old devices from private households can also return the old devices to the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities or to the collection points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the German law ElektroG.expressly point out that end users of electronic equipment are responsible for deleting personal data on the devices to be disposed of.
